Wow is Congress doling out our money fast to every bankrupted hand that comes forth. First it was the banks (which still hasn’t worked out, and we all knew it wouldn’t) and now Congress is having the heads of the big 3 automakers come grovel in front of them and these criminals… I mean, Congressmen can get some face time in front of the cameras. My personal opinion is simple... don’t give any money to them and put, Rep. Barney Frank and Senator Chris Dodd behind bars. I understand and sympathize with the workers of the Big 3 and understand that it is going to put a lot of people out of work for a little while. I recognize that these automakers are a hallmark of America but, I also recognize that giving them more money is only going to put another bandage on a wound that needs attention.
The attention that is needed for the “big 3” is to scrape the United Auto Workers (UAW) and the only way that that is going to happen it to fail and start over. The UAW is a thug that requires labor restraints, retirement packages, healthcare packages, minimum pay for their members, which their competitor would never give into. These demands are ridiculous and unsustainable and the UAW knows it but, they have good faith that they United States government will take care of it when the bankrupt the companies.
Increased attention must be given to the overbearing, arrogant United States government that places excessive regulations and unfunded mandates on these companies, which causes the car companies to retool and redesign their products only to have further regulations and mandates on them while their foreign competitor outsell and outperform the Big 3 at every turn. Why shouldn’t they when these companies are based in the hostile environment that the United State Government has created.
The United States has and will continue to deteriorate on the worlds stage of world players if, “we the people” will not demand these unions to release their strangle hold on companies and the government to get their greedy hand out of everyone persons pocket and business. The banks and automakers are only the first to fail. Next, it could be your job or business.
